General Guidelines Ensure that treatment is not contraindicated (see manual) and that eye protection is worn. Treat relevant trigger points first, then directly address the area of damage. Advise patient they may experience a slight inflammatory response initially in the chronic case - indicates expected physiological response. Application Guidelines Palpate, locate and treat trigger points at the settings below: Probe Time per Point Dose per Point Pulse Range 820nm 200mW 15 seconds 24 J/cm2 1 kHz 820nm: Treat at points 1cm apart across the affected area at the settings below but if addressing acute case, pulse repetition rate with infra-red can be reduced from high as advised below to medium (i.e. 146Hz). Follow up with the Multi-Wavelength Cluster to cover area at the settings below. Probe Time per Point Dose per Point Pulse Range 820nm 200mW 15-20 secs 24-32 J/cm2 5-10 kHz 60 (or 20) Diode MW Cluster 1 minute 6 J/cm2 20-73-146 Hz Frequency of Treatment At least once a week, but not more than every day for 3 days followed by every third day. Pulse repetition rate with infra-red should also be reduced from high as advised above to medium (i.e. 146Hz) after improvement in chronic case.
